What it does
Sprootle, formerly Daily Adventure, turns your Yoto into an alarm clock that tells your child about their day through a story. Mornings and bedtimes come in English, French or Spanish, using the real weather, your calendar and the things they love.
Mornings are 12 to 15 minute routines with music, a personalised daily story written an hour before it plays, and optional mindfulness. Bedtimes offer goodnight greetings, classic stories (Aesop, Grimm, Ashanti tales, Kipling), calm music and white or rain noise. You can also build custom routines such as tidy-up, quiet time or after school, with multiple children each having their own voice and schedule.
Extras include around ten storyteller voices with previews, Google Calendar integration with birthday and holiday countdowns, optional email alerts if the player goes offline or the battery is low, a story archive with transcripts, and Home Assistant support so a routine can switch the lights too. The maker states it is free to start and not affiliated with Yoto.
