What it does
Dreaming of a Jet Plane magically turns your Yoto player into a Jet Plane Scanner that finds aeroplanes in the skies around you and teaches you all about them and the faraway destinations they are headed. Add the card to your library and play the first track to scan the skies.
The maker's site describes two versions: a Free Edition using global flight data from a network of spotters with 3 aircraft per scan and daily limits, and a Yoto Club version with real-time local scanning, unlimited scans and 5 aircraft per scan.
Built with Python, FastAPI and Railway. The request's IP address is resolved to an approximate location, Flightradar finds the nearest planes, a few sentences are constructed from the plane's details and destination, and ElevenLabs generates the audio. Destination facts are hand-curated and reviewed by the developer.
